Watching Tim throughout the season, he never planted himself well. He owns a restaurant here in the DMV, but his performance in the competition never really took off mainly because he has a different idea of what good cooking is. Each time he was confident in his dish, the judges’ opinion was the exact opposite. I don’t think he was able to find an organic balance between his style as a chef and the type of chef who could win the competition. He’s still a great chef, just not necessarily top chef material.
