I’m Running Late

Many mornings, like this one, I take my precious time getting ready for work.  It’s not that I do it on purpose, but I like to enjoy my morning.  After I pray, I like to open the blinds and let the sun slowly shine into the window, then turn on the local news and see what’s going on at the top of the day.  As I proceed shower, get dressed, etc., eventually I realize that I am approaching my ideal departure time. Uh oh! Not good!  Then I accelerate.

In my last-minute rushing, I realize that I need breakfast.  Its been said and proven that breakfast is the most important meal of the day so I try my best to eat something during that time.  If I don’t have oatmeal, or a banana, on hand, or if I need a quick bite to eat as I walk to the train station, I grab a Nature Valley Granola Bar.

These all natural granola bars are wrapped in couples, ready to be consumed to give you a great burst of energy whenever you need it.

I love this brand of granola because you can use it for just about anything! If I’m not enjoying it au natural, I like to crunch a package of the Oats ‘n’ Honey bars, and sprinkle it in yogurt with  fresh fruit and I have an instant parfait!

You can’t go wrong with pure granola.  Its a simple blend of oats, nuts and grains.  When the recipe is taken to another level, you’ll find dried fruit and honey in the mix.  Granola is an easy source packed with fiber and essential vitamins.  The more simple the recipe, the better the granola is for you.  Always read the label.

Do you grab granola when you’re running late? If not, keep a box in your car, at your desk or in your kitchen cabinet, and have some to naturally boost your energy.

Enjoy!

I have never been one for breakfast bars, granola bars, etc… But I recently tried the Special K Cereal Bars and they are so delcious! Since they have the same basic consistency of a granola bar, perhaps I am finally ready to try one. I’ll let you know how it goes :)

I love granola bars. I use to eat that specific brand all the time, but it’s gotten abit too crunchy over the years. So I switched to Quaker. And I do keep a box at my desk, paired with a cup of hot herbal tea it’s a great morning starter.

Laughing808, I love the crunch. That strong texture helps get my brain wheels cranking in the morning.

You’re right. It is great with tea too!

  4. Yup – I love these – Oats and Honey and even the Brown Sugar and Maple. But lemee tell you the Apple Crisp one is sooo good I ate the whole box one time. I don’t recommend that. I started making my own granola though. Maybe I’ll post the recipe one day.
